FAQ

How long does headlight restoration last?

Maximum's headlight restoration includes a UV-protectant clear coat applied after wet-sanding and polishing — that protective layer typically lasts 2–4 years before yellowing returns. Without the clear coat, restored headlights would yellow again within 6–12 months. The clear coat is the difference between a real restoration and a quick polish.

Cars parked outdoors year-round in Richmond's sun get the lower end of the range; garaged cars hit 4 years routinely.

When the clear coat eventually wears, we can refresh just the affected lens — full restoration isn't needed every time. The first restoration is the labor-intensive one; subsequent maintenance is faster and cheaper.
