Process: tape off the surrounding paint, wet-sand starting at 800 grit and stepping up through 1500, 2000, and 3000 to remove the oxidation without leaving sanding marks, polish the lens with a dual-action polisher and refining compound until it reads optically clear, then seal with a UV coating. Both lights take 60 to 90 minutes total.

When replacement is the right call: cracks INSIDE the lens (not just surface haze), moisture trapped between the lens and the housing (a sign the seal failed), or a chipped lens with daylight visible through the crack. When the haze starts coming back: book a re-restoration. The second restoration is faster and cheaper because there is much less material to remove the second time. Many customers book annual maintenance to keep headlights clear indefinitely without ever replacing them.

Aim is a separate adjustment — your mechanic can correct that during inspection if the bulb itself is fine.
