What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as Zelle, cash, and check. Payment is collected after the work is complete and you have inspected the car.

Question 4

Do you provide before-and-after photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes — your detailer takes before-and-after photos of every car as part of our standard process. You will receive them with your invoice.

It is part of how we keep our standards high and how we show off our work to future customers (with your permission).

Question 5

Do you come to me, or do I bring the car to you?

Accepted Answer

We come to you. Maximum is fully mobile across Richmond, Henrico, Glen Allen, Short Pump, Midlothian, Mechanicsville, Goochland, and Chesterfield County. We bring our own water and power, so you do not need to do anything except point us at the car.

Most appointments are at the customer's home, but we also detail at offices, apartment buildings, and condo complexes when management allows. If you are not sure whether your location works, call us and we will figure it out together.

There is no separate travel fee inside the standard service area. If you are outside the listed counties, mention it when booking and we will quote a flat travel addition.

Question 6

Do I need to provide water or power for a mobile detail?

Accepted Answer

No. Maximum brings everything needed — our own water tank, generator, and supplies. You don't need to run a hose or extension cord from your house. Pick a flat spot near your driveway, and we handle the rest.

For Jet Seal and multi-stage paint correction, we may ask to work in a covered space (garage or carport) so dust doesn't settle into the curing surface. If you have a garage that fits the car, that's ideal but not required.

If your home or apartment has water access we can use, that's welcome — it shortens setup. Either way, no surprises on bill.

Question 7

What if it rains the day of my appointment?

We watch the radar the night before and call you if we need to reschedule. Light rain doesn't stop most of the work — interior detailing, headlight restoration, and engine bay cleaning all happen under cover. Heavy rain or storms do, especially for Jet Seal where the surface needs to be dust-free and dry.

If we reschedule, we usually slot you for the next dry day on our calendar. You don't lose your spot — we just shift the date.

Customers in the Richmond area know the weather can flip quickly in spring and summer. We'd rather come back than rush the job.

What if I don't have a driveway?

A driveway is preferred but not required. We can detail at apartment buildings, condo complexes, office parking lots, and street parking — anywhere the vehicle can sit safely for the duration of the service. Just confirm with your property management that an outside detailer is allowed before booking.

For apartments and condos, we set up next to the vehicle in the lot and run our own power and water. We don't use building utilities. Setup is roughly a 10×15 foot footprint around the car.

Street parking works for shorter services like Silver Detail and headlight restoration. For Platinum or Jet Seal where the work spans 4–7 hours, we recommend a more sheltered spot.

How long does each detail package take?

On Maximum's pricing, SUV/truck rates are $50–$55 above the sedan price across all three packages. Oversized vehicles (extended-cab pickups, large SUVs like a Suburban or Expedition) may add another tier — we'll quote it specifically when you call.

There's no hidden upcharge. The sedan price you see is the sedan price; the SUV/truck price is the SUV/truck price. No surprises at the end.

Can I get a quote without an in-person visit?

For Jet Seal, paint correction beyond single-stage, and odor or pet-hair removal, we ask for 1–2 photos of the current condition (paint, interior carpet, headliner) so we can give you a real number. Photos can come over text.

If you book and the vehicle's condition is materially worse than what the photos showed, we'll quote any additional work upfront before starting. We don't pile on charges at the end.

How do I maintain Jet Seal between details?

Hand-wash with pH-neutral shampoo every 2-4 weeks; never use household dish soap or detergent because it can strip the sealant. Skip automated drive-through washes because the brushes can mark the finish.

Plan to refresh Jet Seal once or twice a year. When water stops beading after a fresh hand wash, that is the easiest trigger to book the next application.

For tree sap, bird droppings, or insect residue, rinse and remove within 24 hours. The sealant buys reaction time, but contaminants left for days can still etch the clear coat underneath.

What's the difference between paint correction and a wash?

A wash removes dirt and contaminants from the surface. Most cars don't need multi-stage correction. We'll tell you straight if a single-stage gets you 90% of the way there at lower cost.

Will paint correction remove deep scratches?

Maybe. If you can catch a fingernail in the scratch, it has gone through the clear coat into the basecoat — paint correction can't fix that without spot-repair or repainting. If the scratch is shallower (most swirl marks, light keys, finger-grazes from putting the car cover on), correction can usually remove or significantly reduce it.

For deeper scratches, we offer light scratch removal as an add-on ($65) — that's targeted polishing on the affected area, distinct from the full-panel correction. Sometimes that's all the car needs.

When the scratch is too deep for any correction, we'll tell you and recommend a body shop. We don't take money for work that won't produce results.

How do I know if my car needs paint correction or just a polish?

Here is the actual sequence: full hand wash and decontamination wash (iron remover, clay bar) takes the first hour, paint inspection under a corrective light identifies which areas need cutting, then a dual-action polisher works each panel one at a time at slow speed. The longer the polishing time per panel, the deeper the defects we can pull out.

Honest caveats: paint correction is destructive (we remove a thin layer of clear coat to level the surface), so it is not something to do every six months. How long does an interior-only detail take?

Do I need paint correction or just a really good wash?

Outside that core: we've done one-off bookings in Powhatan, Hanover east of Mechanicsville, and northern Goochland near Maidens — those are case-by-case and typically scheduled as a same-day batch with another nearby appointment so the drive is shared. Anything past that (Charlottesville, Williamsburg, Fredericksburg) is outside our regular range.
