Do I need to provide water or power for a mobile detail?

Accepted Answer

No. Maximum brings everything needed — our own water tank, generator, and supplies. You don't need to run a hose or extension cord from your house. Pick a flat spot near your driveway, and we handle the rest.

For Jet Seal and multi-stage paint correction, we may ask to work in a covered space (garage or carport) so dust doesn't settle into the curing surface. If you have a garage that fits the car, that's ideal but not required.

If your home or apartment has water access we can use, that's welcome — it shortens setup. Either way, no surprises on bill.

Question 2

How long does each detail package take?

Accepted Answer

Silver Detail takes 2–3 hours. Gold Detail with paint correction takes 3–5 hours. Platinum Detail with multi-stage correction and jet-seal prep takes 4–7 hours. We schedule one detail per crew per day so we don't rush — the time estimate is honest, not optimistic.

SUVs and trucks add roughly 30–45 minutes across all tiers because of the larger surface area and additional interior space.

If we're running ahead of schedule, we use the extra time on the trim, jambs, or wheels — not to leave early. The 5-star reviews on Google reflect that.

What's the difference between Silver, Gold, and Platinum?

Silver Detail ($265 sedan) is full interior + exterior with premium wax — routine maintenance every 3–6 months. Gold Detail ($345 sedan) adds single-stage paint correction to fix swirl marks and light oxidation. Platinum Detail ($395 sedan) adds multi-stage correction plus jet-seal prep — for cars that deserve the full treatment.

Every package includes the full interior reset (vacuum, steam, shampoo, leather conditioning, glass, jambs) and the full exterior wash and decontamination. The differences are in the paint-finishing stages.

Why are SUVs and trucks priced higher than sedans?

Accepted Answer

SUVs and trucks have ~25–35% more surface area than a sedan, which translates to more wash, decontamination, and paint-correction time. Interiors also have a third row, more carpet square footage, and more glass. The price difference reflects the actual additional time on the vehicle.

On Maximum's pricing, SUV/truck rates are $50–$55 above the sedan price across all three packages. Oversized vehicles (extended-cab pickups, large SUVs like a Suburban or Expedition) may add another tier — we'll quote it specifically when you call.

There's no hidden upcharge. The sedan price you see is the sedan price; the SUV/truck price is the SUV/truck price. No surprises at the end.

What's the difference between paint correction and a wash?

Accepted Answer

A wash removes dirt and contaminants from the surface. Paint correction removes defects from the clear coat itself — swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, water-spot etching — using a polisher and progressively finer compounds. The result is paint that looks deeper and clearer than a wash alone can produce.

A wash is part of every detail package. Paint correction is the differentiator between Silver (no correction), Gold (single-stage correction), and Platinum (multi-stage correction). The more stages, the more defect removal, but also the more clear coat material is removed — there's a finite amount, so over-correcting a car shortens its lifespan.

Most cars don't need multi-stage correction. We'll tell you straight if a single-stage gets you 90% of the way there at lower cost.

Question 6

How do I know if my car needs paint correction or just a polish?

Accepted Answer

Look at your paint under direct sunlight. If you see fine swirl-pattern scratches, "spider webbing," or hazy clouding when the angle changes, that's correction territory. If the paint looks uniformly dull but smooth, a polish may be enough. If it's glossy and just dirty, you only need a wash.

On dark colors (black, navy, dark grey, deep red) defects show up immediately and correction transforms the look. On light colors and white, defects are harder to see, so correction is more about long-term paint health than visual transformation.
